Nebraska Law Enforcement Memorial
The Nebraska Law Enforcement Memorial
The Nebraska Law Enforcement Memorial
The memorial was dedicated Monday, May 11, 2009 after more than a decade of hard work, planning and fundraising. That hard work was carried out by a group of committed individuals, businesses, donors and the Nebraska Law Enforcement Memorial Project Committee. Two companies in particular were instrumental in making the project a reality. Our many thanks to Davis Design, for their planning of the Memorial, and to Kingery Construction, who helped with planning and construction of the Memorial.
The memorial is comprised of three large walls in an arc shape. The south, outer side of the memorial is engraved with NEBRASKA LAW ENFORCEMENT MEMORIAL with bookend engravings of a 7 point sheriff badge and an engraved badge shape of most local agencies. Each inside, north arc, contains 6 dark granite panels with etched names of 137 law enforcement officers who gave their lives in the line of duty.
See below for some of detailed features of the memorial.
