The Nebraska Law Enforcement Memorial
The faces you will see throughout this website are those of Nebraska's law officers who have died or have been killed in the line of duty 130 men with stories reaching back to 1866. Each was a member of a family, a community, and dedicated his life to protecting the citizens of our state. In the end, each gave his life.
We honor them.
Many do not know that Nebraska does not yet have a memorial that honors all of law enforcement. It is for this purpose that the Nebraska Law Enforcement Memorial Committee formed to build a permanent memorial to honor these men, as well as those who daily answer the call to make our lives more safe and secure. The Memorial will be built at Fonner Park in Grand Island. To date, the names of 130 men will be etched into the structure's granite wall.
Although we are now in the process of construction, there will still
be a need for funds on behalf of the families who will, unfortunately, lose a
loved one in the line of duty in Nebraska. We are
in the final stages of raising the funds needed to build the Memorial, and we
need your help! Click on the “Donate Now” bar at the top of this and any page on
the website and make a secure donation through PayPal. You may also mail a check
to: Jones Bank, PO Box 469, Seward NE 68434
As you read through the rest of this site, you will learn more about the faces at the top of each page, the symbolism of the Memorial's design, and how
the donations of so many are helping us complete it. This memorial will honor the men and women who protect us daily, and who have given their lives in service to us, the citizens of Nebraska. |
